This little crostino packs a good flavour punch. The peppery rocket and earthy walnuts make a far more robust combination than basil and pine nuts, the more traditional ingredients in pesto. The sauce is great for many other purposes too, keeps for up to a week in the fridge and freezes well. Try it with linguine and even more grated parmesan.

Makes 20 crostini
rocket leaves 300g
walnuts 300g, roughly chopped
parmesan 150g, grated
garlic 1½ tbsp, finely chopped
flaky sea salt and black pepper
extra virgin olive oil
